We are thrilled to be able to once again host and run this marathon on Sunday 29 May after the disappointment of the event cancellation in 2020. We are grateful to Tronox for once again coming on board as title sponsor and look forward to a great event.
The 2022 Tronox Marathon features a 42.2km (Comrades Qualifier) / 21.1km Half Marathon, 10km Run and 5km Fun Run/Walk around the town of Empangeni in KwaZulu-Natal. Medals to all Finishers and Plenty of Spot Prizes to be won.

• Well stocked water tables every 3km
• Toilet and shower facilities available
• Medical personnel available
• Secure Parking and tog bag facilities
• Unlicensed athletes for the 21.1km and 10km
• Racers will need to purchase a temporary license to participate
• No temporary licenses will be allowed for the 42.2km.
• No entries except for the 5km will be taken on the day of the event.
• Covid protocols will be adhered to.
